alliance for grievance mechanisms
in supply chains
the alliance
strong alliance,
strong help
A number of organizations have signed the appellando declaration for protecting human rights and the environment throughout supply chains and joined our alliance. As supporters, they have the opportunity to participate in our multi-stakeholder working groups and promote the commitments of the alliance in their networks.
A number of supporters have become formal partners of the alliance by contributing financially.

"To improve conditions in global supply chains, you need to get the most accurate picture possible, putting people at the center. Thus we consider it essential to include the perspective of affected rightsholders and to listen to their grievances. Many of these issues can only be solved through collective action. Sector-wide collaboration between different supply chain actors is therefore imperative"

"We believe that no single retailer has the power to tackle all of the human rights and environmental issues in the supply chain alone. This is a shared responsibility, and we are proud to be part of the appellando initiative and helping to ensure that our collective energy is channelled into granting access to effective remedy for the rightsholders."

"Further efforts are urgently needed to facilitate access to grievance mechanisms. REWE Group has anchored the advancement of access to effective grievance mechanisms as a key component of its strategy. We see such systemic approaches as an important lever to facilitate access to grievance mechanisms in our supply chains. It is crucial to pursue cross-company approaches and to involve all participants along the supply chains to increase acceptance."
